Wexham Court Parish Council Tennis Courts, and the City Tennis Initiative

The Tennis Courts that form part of the Parish amenity land adjacent to Wexham Court Parish Hall became a Satellite Centre for the City Tennis Initiative in June 2005.  The courts have been fully renovated by the Parish Council and are currently available free of charge for use by both the residents of Wexham and the City Tennis Club.  All we ask is that the courts are shown the appropriate respect, and used only for tennis.  All other activities, sporting or otherwise, are prohibited.

The main purpose of the City Tennis Initiative is to make tennis more accessible and to provide affordable coaching sessions, especially for young people.

We hosted a Launch Day at our Parish Hall on the afternoon of the 15th June 2005, which was a great success.  Various people were invited to the launch including local students, myself and Members of the Parish Council, representatives of Wexham School, the LTA, and Slough Borough Council, and the Deputy Mayor, David MacIsaac.  Celebrity tennis pro Alex Bogdanovic also attended the launch, and spent much of the available time taking part in the planned tennis activities with the students.  Despite wet and miserable conditions during the morning, the rain stopped and the sun put in an appearance just in time for the arrival of the Deputy Mayor, so this made the afternoon all the more enjoyable.

For further information regarding forthcoming coaching sessions please contact the Slough City Tennis Club on 01753 875585.
