WEXHAM COURT PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES of the SPECIAL MEETING of the COUNCIL held on Wednesday, the

24^th June, 2009, at the Parish Hall, Norway Drive, Wexham, Slough.

PRESENT:

Councillors Dave Davies (Chairman),

Robert Aldridge, Patrick Donachy, and David MacIsaac.

Officers: Dianne Egan (Clerk), Tina Kellett (Finance Clerk).

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE:

Councillors Bryan Corps (unwell), Tony Haines (at another meeting),

and Vinay Vyas (working).

27.     DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

No Member had an interest to declare.

28.     SIGNING-OFF OF THE ANNUAL RETURN

The Annual Accounts for the year ending March 2009 had been approved at the last meeting of Council.  However, the Annual Return could not be signed until the accounts had been inspected by the internal auditor and this Special Meeting had therefore been convened to meet the timescales for this as laid down by the Audit Commission.  The internal auditor had now approved the Accounts for submission to the external auditor and therefore the Annual Return was duly completed and subsequently signed by the Chairman and the Clerk.

29.     CONSIDERATION OF QUOTES RECEIVED FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE TENNIS COURTS

The Chairman clarified that the tennis courts required maintenance work to improve their appearance now that the fencing installation had been completed.  Quotes had been obtained from Chiltern Sports, who had previously renovated the courts, as follows:

a)     High Pressure Washing - £855+VAT

b)    Painting of Playing Lines - £405+VAT

c)     Colour Spraying & Painting of Playing Lines - £3,276+VAT

The various options were discussed and options a) and c) were agreed.  The Clerk was asked to arrange the work as soon as possible.

RESOLVED: That the sum of £4,131+VAT be approved for maintenance of the tennis courts.

The Meeting closed at 7.50 p.m.
